Chinese Medicine
The term acupuncture is growing in popularity however, acupuncture is just one part of Chinese Medicine. Chinese medicine these days is more referred to as Chinese Herbal formulas. However Chinese Medicine is really the art and philosophy of Chinese medicine which has its roots in Daoism.
Herbal formulas are medicine however understanding the art of putting together a Chinese Medicinal formular is the actual art of practicing Chinese Medicine. Just as the selection of acupuncture points based on a Chinese medical diagnosis is the art of acupuncture.
Chinese Medicinal formulas are made from one herb to possibly over 20 different herbs. The combination of herbs allows for the medicine to be taken to the desired part of the body and to offer that part of the body healing. Chinese Medicine can be formulated for the individual and as signs and symptoms change, the formula in then adjusted for current symptom presentation.
The combination of herbs is a curated art after extensive study and clinical practice.
